Philadelphia Phillies prospect makes debut on the latest MLB Top 100

Aroon Escobar has joined the Philadelphia Phillies’ list of the top 100 prospects, bringing their total to six. Escobar’s potent hitting and reliable play showcase the team’s top-tier farm system, which is ranked second in baseball only to the Mariners.

The addition of a new player to the top 100 further enhances the Philadelphia Phillies’ already impressive farm system.

Over the past two years, the Philadelphia Phillies have enjoyed one of baseball’s top farm systems.

Despite his injuries, pitcher Andrew Painter has continuously remained in the top rankings. Justin Crawford is an outfielder with great speed and contact, while Aidan Miller has a promising future at shortstop.

They entered the season with five of MLB Pipeline’s top 100 prospects, even after dealing for Starlyn Caba.

Out of the five, Mick Abel is the only one who has had an influence at the major league level thus far. With Painter on the way, Abel has demonstrated that he can hold his own as a Major League starter with a 3.47 ERA in 23.1 innings.

The Phillies now have six prospects, which ties them for second place in MLB Pipeline’s revised top 100, along with the Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers. The Phillies boast one of baseball’s greatest systems, second only to the Seattle Mariners, who have nine prospects in the top 100.

Aroon Escobar, 20, is the newbie and can be seen at No. 97. Escobar has played in rookie ball for the past three seasons since signing a contract in 2022. Escober debuted in Single-A in 2025.

Despite the exception of his hit tool, which scores a 55, Escobar, who is 5’10”, gets average marks on all of his tools. With 65 games played, the 20-year-old has enjoyed an outstanding season. He has been cut. .832 OPS, 40 RBI, 10 home runs, and a 287/.379/.453 line.

Escobar is tied for the most home runs and eighth in RBI in the Florida State League, and he has the 10th-best OPS. He leads the Florida State League in hits with 73.

His performance as one of the greatest players in his league has led assessors to hold him in greater esteem than they previously did.

Escobar batted.338 with a.976 OPS in 24 games in 2024, but he is still learning to hit, according to MLB Pipeline.

“He learned last year how to get his body… and start tapping into his raw power,” his scouting report reads.

If Escobar continues to improve, he might rise much higher thanks to his bat.

However, his defence is not always as good as his offence. He is unlikely to wow anyone on defence, but his future appears to lie at second base, where he has previously played, or third base.

Considering he is still a young player with much growth ahead of him, Escobar’s inclusion on the Top 100 after six months of full-season sport is encouraging. In a stacked system, he may rise to the top with all the incoming grads in a year or two.
