Preseason Finale Recap: Cam Ward Impresses Despite No Touchdowns in Titans’ 23–13 Win

Cam Ward, a new quarter back drafted by Tennessee Titans also registered a comfortable win over the Minnesota Vikings in a preseason game, thus giving him a cemented grade of B.

Ward ended the night completing 10 of his 19 attempts, 145 yards including a silver-plated three-for-three for 36 yards that ended up with a Julius Chestnut rushes.

Although he did not score a touchdown, Ward was calm and accurate, especially in that late drive.

The coach Brian Callahan confirmed that the team was keen on avoiding Ward to take many hits to preserve his health as they prepare towards regular season.

The preseason final victory has racked up the Titans to a 2-1 record providing some hope to Ward and a boost of momentum going into Week 1 against the Denver Broncos on September 7.

The late offensive surge against the Vikings, which included a steady drive down the field of 13 plays and 90 yards in a span of eight minutes was characteristic of the benefits that Ward could bring to the Titans offence.

Van Jefferson posted a significant performance too, even though he did so with the second team, and scored a touchdown that helped the team to win.

With the regular season just ahead, decisive roster cuts are ahead and the direction further forward will depend on the health and progress Ward makes. What fans can look forward to is his clean execution and good arm control which will help the team as it enters into real games.
