Pennsylvania generated a record $2.8 billion in gaming tax revenue last year.
The Pennsylvania gambling Control Board presented its annual report on Wednesday, which included revenue from slot machines, table games, sports wagering, internet gambling, fantasy sports, and video gaming terminals at truck stops.
Revenues across the state climbed by 8.5% in the 2024-2025 fiscal year, at a time when many casinos have warned of diminishing profits, totaling $6.4 billion, according to the report. This amounted to $2.8 billion in taxes for the state.

Sports betting, particularly online, is one sector propelling the expansion. In the previous year, Pennsylvanians gambled $8.7 billion on sports, bringing in $487 million for the state’s coffers. In the state’s seven-year existence, both numbers set a new record for sports betting.

Pennsylvanians can access 11 online sports betting sites and 17 physical sports betting locations throughout the state. According to the report, over the past six years, sports betting, when combined with online gambling, has raised the state’s gaming revenue by around 140%.
