Two of the WNBA’s top teams will face off on Sunday afternoon when the New York Liberty host the Seattle Storm at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m. ET, and the game will air on CBS with streaming available on Fubo. Seattle won the first meeting between these teams 89-79 on June 22. New York leads the Eastern Conference at 12-5 and holds a strong 7-1 record at home, while Seattle enters at 11-7 and has won seven of its last ten games.

Storm vs Liberty WNBA: Liberty look for payback, Storm aim to stay hot

Sunday’s matchup carries weight for both sides. The Liberty are trying to bounce back from a shaky stretch that includes five losses in their last ten games. They managed to beat the Sparks 89-79 on Thursday but failed to cover the spread, highlighting ongoing issues caused by the absence of forward Jonquel Jones.

The Storm, meanwhile, are building momentum at just the right time. After a slow start to the season, Seattle has turned things around behind the strong play of Nneka Ogwumike and Erica Wheeler. Even after trading away Jewell Loyd, the Storm remain one of the top teams in the league.

Storm vs Liberty: Players to watch

Seattle will once again turn to Nneka Ogwumike, who scored 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the Storm’s win over Atlanta. She also posted 26 points and seven boards in the earlier win over New York. Erica Wheeler continues her strong season as well, scoring 21 points in Thursday’s win.

For the Liberty, Natasha Cloud led the team with 23 points in their most recent outing. Sabrina Ionescu contributed 20 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Breanna Stewart notched a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds while playing center in place of Jonquel Jones.

Storm vs Liberty: Betting odds and expert picks

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Liberty are favored by 5.5 points. The total is set at 167.5. Betting experts believe the Storm can cover the spread again, especially with the Liberty missing Jonquel Jones in the frontcourt.

Storm vs Liberty: Best prop bet: Nneka Ogwumike over 6.5 rebounds (-140)

Ogwumike has gone over this number in 12 of 18 games this season and pulled down seven rebounds in the first meeting against New York. With the Liberty struggling on the glass without Jones, Ogwumike has a clear opportunity to dominate again.

Storm Vs Liberty: How to watch

  • Date: Sunday, July 6
  • Time: 1:00 p.m. ET
  • Location: Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York
  • TV: CBS
  • Stream: Paramount+ and Fubo (regional restrictions may apply)

The Liberty are strong at home, but they’ve looked vulnerable without their full lineup. Seattle already has a win over New York and enters this matchup playing confident basketball. Expect a close game with playoff implications and betting value on the Storm to keep it tight — or possibly steal another win.
